Locating Ourselves in Treaty Territory
As an immigrant, Black, and woman-owned organization, we acknowledge that we operate on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe (Ojibway), Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation. We also acknowledge the source of our water is Shoal Lake 39 First Nation, in Treaty 3 territory. We are committed to understanding our role in the ongoing history of these lands and working towards reconciliation. We believe that connecting to the land, its people, and their stories is essential for building a just and sustainable future. We have integrated the calls for respect, collaboration, learning, and education action into our workshops and facilitation practices. Come talk with us and see our other values in action.
